The Animal Shelter received a call from a kind school girl who spotted two puppies running down a dangerous road. A rescue team quickly rushed to the scene and heard the puppies crying in distress. The road was precarious, especially at night, and the poor puppies were visibly hungry and cold.
After an extensive search, I couldn’t find any additional puppies. I made sure to take the ones I found to the vet for a thorough check-up. Despite being approximately 2.5 months old, they were quite thin. However, their demeanor was gentle and cooperative, which was heartwarming to see. It’s difficult to fathom how anyone could abandon these precious puppies. How did they survive without food, and what would have happened to them during winter? We had to keep them at the vet’s office for a week to treat their worm infestations and ensure that they developed properly. During their stay, I made it a point to spend time with them every day and bring them toys to keep them entertained. Seeing the joy on their faces as they explored their newfound toys was priceless.
The vet diagnosed the puppies with inflammatory bowel disease, a condition that can be particularly dangerous for young dogs. Sadly, many puppies afflicted by this disease do not survive. The vet acted quickly and treated the puppies right away, but the gravity of the situation was overwhelming. The disease caused extreme fatigue and loss of appetite in the affected puppies, making them weak and unable to eat. Despite these challenges, the puppies persevered, giving their all to fight for their lives.
They have all weathered the challenges of life’s storms and are now on the road to recovery. Through proper care, they are gaining weight and growing stronger each day.
Afterwards, they embarked on a search for a new abode. However, it proved to be a challenging task to find trustworthy landlords. It’s difficult to discern someone’s true nature. Nevertheless, their shared devotion and affection for furry companions served as a conduit that miraculously brought them together.
We welcomed them into our family with open arms and they bring us nothing but happiness. It’s only right that we give them the very best. Even after a difficult time, things are looking up for them and they’re more than ready to start a fresh new chapter in their lives.
